WebI think as long as you can handle beating the fourth creature you'll be fine in Atlantis. It's pretty disconnected from the main story line so it won't be awkward if you didn't complete all the side quests and cult. You can leave it whenever you want like the other comment says but it is much more immersive to pretend you can't.
