Many were awakened with abdominal pain, nausea and diarrhea. Some also experienced an itchy skin rash, sneezing, breathing problems and swelling of the face, lips or tongue. Not saying it couldn't come from chiggers because I honestly have no clue but be hard to say they couldn't have got bitten by a tick. Them things are everywhere.
